Is that so very wrong? It's not as if we're talking about life-shatteringly important decisions, here.

Sexism: Sexism is commonly considered to be discrimination against people based on their sex rather than their individual merits.

I'm thinking that the individual merits of the female characters outweigh those of the males.

I play nothing but female characters and I'm married... answer that one lol.

But seriously whats the big deal if guys want to play as a girl character? Its not making your game any less fullfilling. Or is the allowance of girl characters played by males in RL somehow effected the amount of RL available males? I could care less if some guy gets off playing a girl character because of her animated boobs. The female body is a beautiful thing be it in art, real life, photos or computer generated. The right to enjoy that is not more or less based on how "real" the girl is. I've met some pretty fake girls out there with pretty fake breasts... are they any less natural then animated?

I'm a guy. 4 of 6 reasonably persistant characters were girls. my character in EQ and EQ2 are girls. why?

if i am going to be playing an RPG i find it easier to play a female. if i play a male i find my character starts to become ME. no correct me if i'm wrong but i simply prefer to be able to look at things from a different point of view. what is the point of going into a game and being yourself? you get no depth of experience. my playing as a girl means that basically i don't notice the gender of other gamers.

i've never understood this 'ZOMGZ GIRLZ' stuff. i mean, 49% of the world's population is female. something like 55% of the western world is female. more than half the people i know are female. my sister is female. last time i checked my mother is female. what is so amazing about finding a female on an online game?

Default stereotypical roles in MMOs

id just like to make a pnt is that some character classes the sex of the char represents what they should be doing therefore a tanker should be male while someone the heals and cares for u should be female and so on im sure there are multiple examples i just dont feel like sitting here and thinking about them

and thats how i decide and my reasoning

lol. i'm the opposite way around. i have a short female warrior and a likewise short male healer. the only other times i made male chars was for the uber ugly necromancer look

3. Male warrior, largest scale body - just cuz I thought that would be fitting, Conan style.

4. Male ranger, better dance. (this character is often deleted for a pvp slot, sigh)

So I guess I have 2/4 female characters.

EDIT: and the male necromancer looks wimpy, imho. look how he hunches over. the female necro is pretty fly on the otherhand. if i could do it over again, I would make a female warrior instead, but keep the male ranger.
I would have to say that male Necros look ok if done right and not looking wierd.I made one up with a nice hair style not to tall and a decent size build it is to bad they are hunched over unlike a male mesmer.I would have to say that male Necros,Mesmers,Elem and Rangers look fine but I prefer the look of Female Monks and Warriors but Female Rangers are ok as well.I would have to say this all starts off in presearing maybe.

I roleplay.

It turns out, in my long story, there are 2 females that happen to be a Necro and an Elementalist. Since I wanted to have a necro, and an elementalist I created them modeled after how I would expect Reader and Wendy to look.

I try to act differantly on each character.

I vow to keep my MAIN characters Male though.

What I play and why:
Male Monk
Female Monk (so both are different)

Male Warrior
Female Warrior (so both are different)

Male Ranger (female ranger reminds me of a hippie)

Male Elementalist (cuz my wife plays a female ele, so again, being diff)

Female Necro (the male necro looks like needs to be in rehab and/or prison)

Male Mesmer (cuz my wife plays a female Me, so again, being diff)

I'm an artist and I play:
female ele, monk, necro, ranger

When I created my first char, my ele, I looked at both sexes and I could not stand the male starter armor. ugh. I then decided to create a tall, haughty looking female ele w/ a "you know you love me" face haha. It is an rpg after all.

My second, I decided I wanted to make a very petite female monk who weilded a huge ass-kicking sword (I had collected several nice gold fellblades and other swords as an ele and was quite annoyed that my variety of weaponry was limited to some plain looking wands and staffs).

I just can't stand the "hunch back of notre dame" male necro look lol.

I initially was planning to create a hot looking male ranger, but after seeing some of the cool female ranger armor decided to try that instead. And I thought it would be funny to own male wars and casters in pvp w/ a short female interrupt ranger muhaha.

I do wish I had room for a male ranger, and the other day I saw a really cool looking male mesmer in toa. He sorta looked like Johnny Depp which I thought was very cool, I want one for myself now! hehe

Anyway, this being a role playing game, I just play my character who I've designed, whether as a "you know you love me" ele or as a nice female monk who won't mind cutting you down to size if you're just another "aggro everything, blame the monk" war.

To me, the art and hair/armor choices are simply better and more varied. Female chars get to choose between short and long hair, pants and skirts, full tops and bra tops. Hell, the female mesmer even gets earrings and jewelry. I can tell you my ele would sure like some accessories like that! The female armor and hair are usually better designed, and more intricate and detailed (who doesn't like the hanging monk arm wraps or the dangling ribbons in ele and monk hair? i mean they react to the "physics" in the world when you move).

With the exception of the male mesmer armor selection, most male character armor sets look fairly similar to me. All male wars look the same to me as well lol. and why are virtually all male monks bald? And I could never tell what the male ele was wearing, a long coat of some sort or a fancy bathrobe?

In the end however, I must say they had some top notch artists and character designers working on the game. The world is beautiful and even the ugliest male or female character in gw far surpasses the ugliest in many other rpg games out there.

hmm.. i never noticed any bounce w/ my ranger when she fires, but then i usually play w/ my camera zoomed as far back as it'll go.

i'm sure more males might play male characters if there were a larger variety of model options. like skinny, tall male warriors or rotund female monks, or how about really short, small male warriors (smaller than a female monk)? i could imagine it would be fun playing a tiny dwarf like warrior wielding a huge hammer hehe.

as it is, i can't really help it if all my chars look like they're always at the local nautilus 24/7. must be all that running after errant players who need to be healed, or all that health sacrificing =)

I play female chars because deep down, I'm really a woman inside. But I'm also a guy, so I enjoy playing around with making the chars look hawt. I'm spending hours upon hours in the game, why not make the chars look as appealing as I can?

My daughter and I popped into Ventari's Refuge awhile back and landed next to a female ranger named "Notta Realchick".
